Meet Jen.
The CCO/Founder Jen
Jennifer’s journey as a caregiver, advocate, and entrepreneur has been shaped by her close relationship with her sister, Patricia, and her years of hands-on experience supporting individuals with disabilities. Her unique blend of professional expertise and personal insight makes her an essential part of The Ability Company.
Jennifer’s story began with a pivotal moment during a simple game of tennis with Patricia. Although Patricia couldn’t play a traditional match, Jennifer saw the immense joy she experienced just by trying to hit the ball. This moment sparked Jennifer’s understanding of how society often overlooks people with disabilities and how small, supportive actions can make a big difference. It was this realization that set her on the path to work with individuals and families of people with disabilities for over 10 years with practical care and advocacy.
In addition to her caregiving experience, Jennifer has built a career that combines her skills in design, travel, and leadership:
Interior Designer: Jennifer holds a diploma in interior design. She works to create functional, inclusive spaces that are comfortable and empowering for individuals with disabilities, ensuring that homes and workplaces are accessible to all.
Travel Advisor & Entrepreneur: As the owner of her own travel company (Ombi Travel) Jennifer is passionate about helping people with disabilities plan and enjoy accessible travel experiences, ensuring they can explore the world without limitations.
Corporate Leadership: With years of experience in project management, strategic planning, and change management, Jennifer has the leadership skills to drive initiatives that promote long-term change and inclusivity.
Sales & Consumer Insight: Jennifer's background in sales has provided her with a deep understanding of consumer needs and the ability to craft solutions that address the unique challenges of people with disabilities and their caregivers.
Jennifer's personal journey as Patricia’s caregiver, combined with her professional experience, has shaped her belief in the importance of inclusivity, accessibility, and the power of community. She is driven by a deep commitment to improving the lives of those with disabilities and ensuring that their voices are heard, respected, and celebrated.
